Samsung Electronics has officially rolled out its native Stablecoin Account feature within Samsung Wallet, granting eligible Galaxy smartphone users across the United States direct access to USD Coin (USDC) issued on the Solana blockchain. Launched on November 2, the integration allows consumers to purchase, hold, send, and receive digital dollars directly inside the default wallet application alongside their payment cards, boarding passes, and digital identification, eliminating the friction of managing external crypto applications or private keys, Solana said in an statement.
At rollout, the service covers an estimated 82 million compatible Galaxy devices nationwide. Transfers are settled directly on the high-throughput Solana network, capitalizing on its low latency and minimal transaction fees. The underlying custody and settlement infrastructure is powered through a partnership with Bastion, a licensed stablecoin platform, alongside Coinbase, which provides enterprise-grade asset protection for user funds via its Coinbase Prime Vault custodial division.
The new feature facilitates seamless peer-to-peer transfers between Samsung Wallet users within the United States, as well as outbound transactions to compatible third-party crypto addresses without native Samsung transfer charges. Additionally, the platform supports international cross-border remittances to qualifying bank accounts across more than 60 countries, allowing overseas recipients to receive funds converted directly into their local currencies through the app’s quick-access interface.
Eligible users must be at least 18 years of age, hold an active Samsung Account, and operate a supported Galaxy device running Android 13 or newer. Due to state-level regulatory restrictions, the feature remains unavailable to residents of New York. Executive leadership from Samsung and the Solana Foundation hailed the rollout as a major milestone for real-world digital asset utility, positioning the deployment as a decisive transition of dollar-pegged stablecoins from niche trading instruments into everyday, mainstream consumer financial infrastructure.
