Canaan, a prominent manufacturer of Bitcoin mining hardware, has announced a significant purchase order from an undisclosed U.S.-based bitcoin miner for over 50,000 units of its newest Avalon A15 Pro machines. All units are scheduled for delivery before the end of the year.
The order represents a major boost to the global Bitcoin mining capacity. With each A15 Pro unit boasting a hashrate of approximately 218 terahashes per second (TH/s), the full deployment of the order will contribute over 10 exahashes per second (EH/s) of total computing power.
This substantial capacity translates to about 1.4% of the current total Bitcoin network hashrate, signaling a considerable expansion in the U.S. mining sector.
Canaan CEO and Chairman Nangeng Zhang emphasized the importance of the deal, calling it a “milestone order.” Zhang stated that the agreement “represents a significant win for Canaan and reflects the robust resurgence of the U.S. market.”
He highlighted the company’s commitment to building “long-term partnerships in the U.S. market” and noted that the order underscores the strength and performance of the Avalon A15 Pro model.
The news follows other recent successful deployments of Avalon machines at competing North American mining operations, including Cipher Mining and CleanSpark, reinforcing Canaan’s growing presence in the region.
