Lagrange (LA), a zero-knowledge (ZK) infrastructure project, experienced a dramatic price increase of over 80% today following an announcement from Upbit, South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchange. The move by Upbit, a key player in the Asian crypto market, sparked a significant rally that saw the price of LA surge to an intraday high of $0.64, a report by CoinJournal said.
The listing news propelled Lagrange’s momentum, with Upbit confirming it would open spot trading for an LA/KRW (Korean Won) pair. This listing, and similar ones on major exchanges, often triggers a parabolic price movement due to a surge in demand and investor speculation.
The upward trend for Lagrange comes as its ZK proof generation platform has garnered attention and support from major industry players, including Nvidia, ZKSync developer Matter Labs, and Polygon.
In a separate announcement, Upbit also listed Lombard (BARD), the native token of a Bitcoin DeFi platform. The exchange has enabled trading pairs for BARD against both Bitcoin (BTC) and the Korean Won (KRW).
Lombard aims to integrate Bitcoin’s stability into the DeFi ecosystem by bringing Bitcoin-based capital markets on-chain. While BARD’s price also saw a sharp spike after the listing, it quickly pulled back as initial gains were taken by traders.
Both LA and BARD have seen considerable volatility in the wake of their exchange listings. The initial buzz has begun to cool, and both tokens have pared their intraday gains.
As of this report, LA has corrected from its high of $0.64 to trade around $0.48, though its daily trading volume has spiked by over 1,120%. Similarly, BARD, which reached a peak of $1.61, is now hovering around $1.08.
