Truth Social, the social media platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT), is set to launch its own prediction markets through an exclusive arrangement with Crypto.com.
The new product, dubbed “Truth Predict,” will allow Truth Social users to trade contracts related to the outcomes of major real-world events, including political elections, interest rate changes, commodity prices, and major sports leagues.
The move places Truth Social in a rapidly expanding industry. The prediction market space has seen explosive growth, with leading platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket combining for a record-setting $1.44 billion in volume in September. Polymarket recently secured a major investment from Intercontinental Exchange, while Kalshi is reportedly fielding investment offers at up to a $12 billion valuation.
Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com, highlighted the potential, saying, “Prediction markets are poised to be a multi-deca-billion dollar industry… This aligns perfectly with what users look for in social media — a community to engage with and seek truth.”
The prediction market will be integrated with the platform’s existing rewards system. Users who earn Truth gems for interacting on the platforms can convert those gems into Cronos (CRO) tokens, which can then be applied toward purchases of Truth Predict contracts. Trump Media reportedly holds nearly 700 million CRO tokens as part of the partnership utilizing Crypto.com’s digital wallet infrastructure.
Beta testing for Truth Predict is scheduled to begin live on the social platform in the near future, followed by a full launch in the United States. Trump Media ultimately plans to expand the service globally.
