The weekend saw Bitcoin stabilize, allowing buyers to initiate a powerful rally at the start of the week. This push drove the price up by approximately $6,000 on Monday, and the momentum carried through, culminating yesterday in a surge to just over $121,000. As of press time, BTC holds firm above $120,000, positioning it within striking distance of a new all-time high. The broader market reflected this strength, with the total crypto market capitalization now exceeding $4.230 trillion.
The bullish sentiment has spread across the altcoin sector, delivering significant double-digit gains to numerous assets. BNB made headlines by entering uncharted territory, soaring above $1,100 to set a new record high. However, the week’s most explosive performance belongs to the privacy token Zcash (ZEC), which skyrocketed by 170% to a three-year peak over $150. Other major winners include Ethereum (ETH), which is up 12.14% to $4,460, and Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and XLM, all posting strong weekly increases.
Corporate appetite for Bitcoin remains insatiable. MicroStrategy (now Strategy), the largest corporate holder, announced its latest purchase of 196 BTC, pushing its total holdings past 640,000 BTC. Even more notably, Japanese firm Metaplanet executed a substantially larger acquisition of 5,268 BTC, bringing their total stash to 30,823 BTC.
