Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy raised $761.7 million last week by selling both common stock and a portion of its digital asset holdings, according to a regulatory filing on Monday. The company generated $653.1 million through the sale of 6.59 million common shares, alongside $108.6 million raised from liquidating 1,690 bitcoin.
Proceeds from the cryptocurrency sale were entirely deployed to repurchase 1,152,020 shares of the company’s variable-rate preferred stock, trading under the ticker STRC, for $108.6 million. The transaction trimmed Strategy’s total holdings to 840,447 bitcoin, which carry an aggregate purchase price of $63.36 billion and an average acquisition cost of $75,385 per token. The 1,690 bitcoin were offloaded at an average price of $64,262, net of fees and expenses.
From the equity sales, Strategy directed $650 million toward its U.S. dollar reserve, elevating the fund’s total balance to $4.65 billion as of August 9. The remaining $3.1 million from the share issuance was funneled into the firm’s general cash balance.
Following the latest capital maneuvers, Strategy maintains $785.2 million in capacity under its preferred-stock repurchase program, alongside $1 billion available under its MSTR common-stock buyback authorization. Both MSTR and STRC equities gained 0.5% in Monday pre-market trading, while bitcoin hovered near the $65,000 level.
