EU Urged to Issue Law on Digital Currency

A draft European Union (EU) document suggests that the block should consider issuing its own digital currency amidst opposition to Facebook’s Libra in various European countries.

The draft is said to be prepared by the Finnish EU presidency, suggesting that the European Central Bank should consider issuing its own digital currency. 

The draft is still subject to amendments. EU members are urged to help develop a common approach to cryptocurrencies with the possibility of disregarding projects with high risks.
