World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency project with ties to U.S. President Donald Trump, increased its Ethereum (ETH) holdings on Tuesday. According to data from Arkham Intelligence and reported by on-chain researcher Lookonchain, World Liberty Financial acquired 3,473 ETH at an average price of $3,743. The newly acquired Ether was subsequently staked on Aave, a decentralized finance (DeFi) lending platform.
This latest acquisition brings World Liberty Financial’s total Ethereum holdings to approximately 73,616 ETH, valued at an estimated $275.9 million at current market prices.
The move coincides with a robust period for Ethereum, which has seen substantial institutional interest. On the same Tuesday, spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded net inflows of $533.9 million, a stark contrast to the $67.9 million net outflow experienced by spot Bitcoin ETFs, as per SoSoValue data.
Despite remaining largely flat in the past 24 hours, trading around $3,729, Ethereum has demonstrated strong performance, rising 20% over the past week and an impressive 67.1% over the last 30 days.
In parallel with its strategic ETH accumulation, World Liberty Financial is also gearing up for the anticipated unlock of its native WLFI token. The project’s team announced last week that they aim for WLFI to commence official trading within the next six to eight weeks, citing the need for “strategic alignments (alliances, grand stages, smart unlocks)” to maximize its potential.
