Huawei Joins Hands with DCRI

Huawei, a Chinese multinational technology company, joined hands with China’s Digital Currency Research Institute (DCRI) to develop fintech and digital currency. 

According to WeChat, DCRI deputy governor Fan Yifei did not give further details of the agreement. 

No details on joint research on blockchain or digital cryptocurrencies were provided.

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC), China’s central bank, established the DCRI in June 2017 to support fintech industry in particular as well as promoting blockchain technology. 

Huawei is a global tech-leading company. The company is also leading in 5G technology in China as well as blockchain technology development. 

Huawei launched its Hyperledger-based blockchain-as-a-service platform. Huawei also has plans to launch blockchain in Latin America.
